Pronunciation of ‘ed’ Verb Endings

Introduction

The ‘ed’ endings of regular past tense verbs can be pronounced in three different ways:

  • /t/ Example: ‘helped‘
  • /d/ Example: ‘played’
  • /id/ Example: ‘visited’
